Step Into The Flow: Trusting God’s Leading

Life can be tempting to stand still out of fear.

Yet, God often invites us to take a step into the flow of His Spirit, moving us into deeper places where His presence and power transform us.

This journey requires faith, courage, and a willingness to let God lead, even when the waters seem overwhelming.

 Scripture Insight: Ezekiel 47:3-5

“As the man went eastward with a measuring line in his hand, he measured off a thousand cubits and then led me through water that was ankle-deep.

He measured off another thousand cubits and led me through water that was knee-deep.

He measured off another thousand and led me through water that was up to the waist.

He measured off another thousand, but now it was a river that I could not cross, because the water had risen and was deep enough to swim in a river that no one could cross.” – Ezekiel 47:3-5

Reflective Questions

Where in your life are you only ankle-deep in faith?

Sometimes we stay in shallow waters where it feels safe.

Consider areas where God may be asking you to trust Him more fully.

What holds you back from stepping into deeper waters with God?

Fear, comfort, or past disappointments may keep you from moving forward.

Recognizing these barriers is the first step toward overcoming them.

How can you practically allow God to lead you this week?

Maybe it’s through consistent prayer, spending time in His Word, or saying “yes” to something new He’s placed on your heart.

Devotional Thought

The vision in Ezekiel reminds us that walking with God is a journey of increasing trust.

At first, it’s easy to manage ankle-deep water feels controllable.

But as the river deepens, we lose the ability to rely on our own strength.

This is exactly where God wants us: fully dependent on Him, carried by His Spirit, moving with His current instead of resisting it.

To step into the flow means surrendering the need to control.

It means letting God’s direction guide your path and believing that His plans are greater than what you can see.

For every woman seeking to walk closer with God, the invitation is clear: take that next step, trust His leading, and let His Spirit carry you further than you could go on your own.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

I want to step into the flow of Your Spirit and follow where You lead.

Forgive me for the times I’ve stayed in shallow waters out of fear.

Give me courage to trust You more deeply, to walk into the unknown with confidence in Your care.

Carry me by Your strength and let my life move in harmony with Your will.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
